Our Story
PlayGridX was founded in Sydney, NSW, in 2019 by a group of five passionate gamers who felt that Australian voices were underrepresented in the global gaming media landscape. Too many reviews were written from a Northern Hemisphere perspective — different release windows, different cultural references, and no mention of the Australian esports scene that was quietly becoming one of the most vibrant in the Asia-Pacific region.
What started as a small blog operating out of a Newtown share house has grown into a full editorial team of 18 writers, reviewers, and esports analysts spread across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide. We cover everything from AAA blockbusters to hidden indie gems, with a special focus on the competitive gaming community right here in Australia.
Our mission is simple: deliver honest, in-depth, Australian-perspective gaming content that helps players make informed decisions and connects the local esports community.
